Aerosol Messgeraete

High-Volume Kaskadenimpaktor

It is evident that particle size and size distribution of total suspended particullates in urban
atmospheres are highly important in relation of this pollutant to human health effects.

Because the degree of respiratory penetration and retention is a direct function of the aerodynamic
particle size, information on the particle size distribution is essential to assess the inhalation health
hazard. For detailed respirable particulate monitoring a high volume cascade impactor operating at a sampling flow rate of 40 SCFM has been developed.
